D&I in Grocery Steering Groups
The Programme is underpinned by excellence from across the industry.
Our Steering Groups dedicate their time and expertise to create one of the most progressive D&I programmes, shaping the future for generations to come and accelerating a truly diverse and inclusive industry.
Strategy Steering Group
The group meets quarterly to review the overall direction and growth of the programme to ensure we remain current and essential to our Partners on their D&I journey’s. The group consists of all Headline Partners, five Major Partners and one SME Partner to provide insight from organisations at different stages of their D&I journeys.
This year, chaired by Simon Smith (Go To Market Operations Director) Kellanova and Deputy Chair Richard Stratton (Group Sourcing & Commodities Director) Tesco. The chairs rotate every year.
Mentoring Steering Group
Meeting six times a year to provide guidance across the 12-month Mentoring Programme, this group runs the mentoring cohort launch sessions, mentee networking events and reviews the matches made across the cohort.
This year chaired by Ruth Tolchard (Sales Controller) JDE Peet’s and Deputy Chair Tim Oakes (Head of New Business, FTG & Foodservice UK) Kepak. The Chair and Deputy Chair for this group rotate every two years.
Shared Learning Steering Group
The group meets eight times a year to provide guidance across the Learning Lab calendar, The Partner HUB, Podcast series and Employee Resource Group (ERG) Forums. Members play an active part hosting sessions throughout the year.
This year chaired by Lisa McCandless (Culture & Engagement Business Partner) Premier Foods and Deputy Chair Carina Mardenborough (Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing Manager) Poundland. The Chair and Deputy Chair for this group rotate every two years.
D&I in Grocery LIVE!
The group meets nine times a year, creates the programme for the event and agrees on the plenary speakers and panel discussion themes.
This year chaired by Caroline Cater (Vice President People & Culture) Coca-Cola European Partners and Deputy Chair Jacquie Sutherland (I&D and Health & Wellbeing Consultant) The Heineken Company. The Chair and Deputy Chair for this group rotate every two years.
