DIG's Impact Report 2022
Making Diversity Everyone's Business
Diversity & Inclusion in Grocery's Impact Report shows the industry's hunger to become a more diverse and inclusive workspace. Since the programme's inception in 2019, DIG has seen a threefold increase in industry partners, rising from 25 to 77. It is now the largest cross-company D&I employee resource group for the grocery industry.
Diversity and Inclusion in Grocery - the numbers
Diversity & Inclusion in Grocery (DIG) exists to create a truly diverse and inclusive industry where everyone feels welcome.
Standing shoulder to shoulder, DIG's 77 Partners form the largest, cross-company, industry network in the diversity and inclusion (D&I) space. DIG's 12-month D&I programme drives change through three main pillars: Shared Learning, Mentoring and the annual event, D&I in Grocery LIVE!
Collectively, our Partners have an estimated 1.1 million UK colleagues and an additional 4.5 million colleagues globally.

"Investing in the DIG Programme is a safe decision for any organisation looking to allocate budget to the right programme. You will be joining a community of like-minded businesses who have the same ambitions, are passionate about doing the right thing and understand the pressures of our industry."
Hayley Tatum
Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer, Asda

Shared Learning
The D&I landscape is vast and complex, but our Shared Learning workstream creates the largest cross-company employee resource platform for partners. Every month, more than 350 colleagues (industry leaders, allies, and experts) lead and attend our annual calendar of monthly Learning Labs.
DIG's Shared Learning workstream has enabled 100+ unique connections between Partners in 2022. These connections drive transformation through mutual support and sharing of best practice, policy development and colleague engagement initiatives.
"Learning Labs deliver genuine, unfiltered stories that really resonate; they help us to start conversations within our own business. Hearing other people's stories, and how they are driving change, has also been the catalyst for some of our own initiatives."
Angela Daulby
UK Commercial Director, Kepak Foods Division
Mentoring
Driving the acceleration of diverse talent across the breadth of the grocery industry to create future leaders, our hugely successful mentoring programme is bringing together senior leaders and mentees in this unique cross-industry initiative.

Diversity & Inclusion in Grocery LIVE!
D&I in Grocery LIVE! drives change and momentum with a full day of speakers and inclusive content representing all areas of diversity. With keynote speeches from D&I trailblazers and unique opportunities to discuss specific topics with our programme partners, this annual event is the ideal place to connect, learn and inspire.
"As a result of attending D&I in Grocery LIVE!, Saputo was inspired to start a reverse mentoring programme for its UK Exec. We loved the event and found it very inspiring!"
Andy Saitch
Sales Director, Saputo Diary UK
